Privacy Policy
Last updated: 17 September 2026
CamHunter looks for hidden cameras and unknown devices around you. It does that on your iPhone or iPad, and what it finds stays there. This policy explains exactly what that means, and what little information reaches anyone else.
1. We have no account for you
There is no sign-in in CamHunter, and no profile on our side. We do not ask for and do not receive your name, email address, phone number, contacts or photo library. We do not use advertising or tracking identifiers, and the app contains no advertising or analytics SDKs.
2. Your scans stay on your device
Everything the app discovers is kept locally, in the app's own storage on your device. That includes:
- the devices found on your Wi-Fi network — their addresses, names and manufacturers;
- the Bluetooth devices heard nearby, their signal strength and estimated distance;
- your scan history, the devices you marked as trusted and any names you gave them;
- the last place a device was seen, when you allowed location access.
None of it is uploaded to us. We never see your network, its devices or your scan history, because there is no server of ours for them to be sent to. Deleting the app removes all of it.
3. Permissions the app asks for
- Local Network — required by iOS before an app may look at the Wi-Fi network you are on. It is what lets CamHunter list the devices connected to it.
- Location (while using the app) — iOS hides the name of the Wi-Fi network from apps without it, and it is what lets a scan remember where a suspicious device was seen. Scanning works without this permission; you just lose the network name and the map pin.
- Bluetooth — needed to hear the devices advertising around you. CamHunter listens to public advertisements only; it does not connect to your devices or read anything from them.
- Camera — used by the infrared viewer to reveal the glow that hidden cameras give off in the dark. The video is processed live on your device and is not recorded, saved or transmitted anywhere.
Every one of these can be refused or withdrawn in iOS Settings. The parts of the app that do not depend on a refused permission keep working.
4. The world map
The map of reported surveillance cameras and public Wi-Fi points ships inside the app and is read from your device. Panning or searching it sends no query to us and does not reveal where you are looking. The underlying data comes from public sources and is shown as-is.
5. Purchases
Subscriptions are sold and charged by Apple through the App Store. Your payment details never reach us: we do not see or store card numbers, billing addresses or Apple ID information.
To know whether your subscription is active, the app uses RevenueCat, a subscription-management provider. It receives a random identifier created on your device at first launch and the purchase information Apple issues for it. That identifier is a random string; it carries no name, email or device details, and it is not linked to anything else about you. It is stored in your device keychain so that reinstalling the app keeps a subscription you already paid for — which also means it survives deleting the app.
6. Who else receives data
- Apple — the App Store and any subscription payment.
- RevenueCat — the anonymous identifier and subscription status described above.
- Telegram — carries a message you choose to send us to our team chat, and nothing else.
That is the complete list. We do not sell, rent or share information with anyone for advertising, analytics or profiling, and we do not build a profile of you.
7. When you write to us
The contact form on this site and the support screen in the app both deliver your message to our internal team chat, where we read it and decide what to do about it.
What travels with the message is only what you typed, plus an email address if you chose to leave one — it is optional, and we use it for nothing but replying to you. A message sent from the app also carries the random install identifier described above, so that a report about a crash or a missing device can be matched to the subscription it concerns. Writing to us is entirely optional and is not needed to use the app.
8. Children
CamHunter is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. Since we collect no personal information from anyone, there is no children's data on our side.
9. Your rights and choices
Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing on our side to request access to, correct, export or delete. In practice:
- deleting the app removes your scan history, trusted devices and settings;
- subscriptions are managed and cancelled in your Apple ID settings, not by us;
- permissions can be withdrawn at any time in iOS Settings;
- if you would like the anonymous subscription identifier erased from RevenueCat, ask us through the contact form and we will delete it — note that this also detaches your subscription from the app, and you will need to use Restore Purchases afterwards.
10. Security
Traffic between the app and the services above is encrypted in transit. The stronger protection, though, is that almost nothing leaves your device in the first place: data that is never collected cannot be exposed.
11. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version appears on this page with a new date at the top. As we have no email address for you, this page is the only place we can announce changes — please check back occasionally. Continuing to use CamHunter after an update means you accept the revised policy.
12. Contact
